Croatia has officially opened the Rijeka Gateway terminal, an ambitious 600 million-euro project aimed at transforming the country's primary port into a key logistics hub in the region, according to port authorities.
The terminal, a significant undertaking by APM Terminals and the ENNA Group, stands as Croatia's largest private investment in logistics. The project, combined with other infrastructure developments in the area, totals a staggering 600 million euros.
Operational as of September, the terminal boasts cutting-edge facilities with a 400-meter quay and a capacity for 650,000 TEUs, which will be expanded later. It features renewable energy, remotely-operated cranes, and Croatia's first private 5G industrial network.
