INS Mahe, the inaugural vessel of the Mahe-class Anti-Submarine Warfare Shallow Water Craft, was officially inducted into the Indian Navy in a significant ceremony at the Naval Dockyard in Mumbai. Commissioned by Chief of the Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi, the event marked a milestone in India's maritime capabilities.

Emphasizing India's naval legacy and innovation, General Dwivedi lauded the ship's commissioning as a major advancement in maintaining coastal security and maritime interests. He noted the transformation of the Indian Navy towards self-reliance, highlighting that over 75% of its platforms are indigenously sourced, from warships to sonar and weapon systems.

Built by Cochin Shipyard Limited, INS Mahe is a testament to India's growing expertise in warship design and construction. With over 80% indigenous content, the ship stands as a powerful, agile, and stealthy asset for the Navy. Representing the cutting edge of the Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiative, the Mahe-class will enhance the country's defensive capabilities across its maritime borders.
