Air India has embarked on an urgent realignment of software and hardware across its Airbus A320 aircraft following a critical directive from Airbus and the European Union Aviation Safety Agency. The directive aims to address a potential safety concern identified as a solar radiation risk impacting flight control systems.

In a recent statement, Air India confirmed that more than 40% of its fleet has successfully completed the necessary updates. The airline's engineering teams are working tirelessly to meet the compliance timeline issued by EASA, ensuring minimal disruption or cancellation of flights.

The directive affects nearly 6,000 A320-family aircraft globally. India's Directorate General of Civil Aviation has restricted the operation of these aircraft until modifications are complete. Air India and IndiGo are committed to fulfilling these requirements promptly, prioritizing passenger safety and operational integrity.
