ACP and Arjun Awardee Dinesh Kumar publicly endorsed Ahmedabad's successful bid to host the 2030 Commonwealth Games, hailing it as a significant moment for India. Speaking to ANI, Kumar noted, 'India gets the opportunity to host the Commonwealth Games for the second time, having hosted it in 2010 as well.'
Kumar further urged the government to set its sights on hosting the Olympics, suggesting it would provide invaluable exposure for budding athletes. 'I request the government to aim for the Olympics in the future so our youth can compete and bring pride to the nation,' he stated, emphasizing the opportunity for youth development.
Meanwhile, the Indian Olympic Association confirmed Ahmedabad, Gujarat, as the official venue for the 2030 Games. Prime Minister Narendra Modi commended the country for being awarded the centenary Commonwealth Games, attributing it to India's spirit of sportsmanship and commitment. Modi expressed enthusiasm for the event, quoting the ethos of 'Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam'.
