Romanian energy group OMV Petrom, majority controlled by Austria's OMV said on Tuesday its 860 MW gas-fired Brazi power plant has shut down due to water restrictions after state officials cut off a dam due to water quality issues.
The Brazi power plant, which supplies roughly 10% of the country's electricity, is expected to be reconnected to the national grid on Dec. 4, pending state works on the Paltinu dam which has left thousands of households without running water.
