Guwahati Set to Host Post Malone's Debut Landmark Concert

The city of Guwahati, in partnership with BookMyShow Live and the Assam government, prepares for Post Malone's debut Northeast performance on December 8. This landmark event signifies Assam's cultural transformation and positions the state as a leading destination for international music and live events, expected to be a transformative experience.

In a significant moment for Northeast India's live entertainment industry, senior officials from the Assam Tourism Development Corporation, the Government of Assam, Guwahati City Police, and BookMyShow Live announced elaborate plans for hosting Post Malone's highly-anticipated first performance in the region. The concert, set for December 8 at Guwahati's Khanapara Veterinary Ground, is being promoted by BookMyShow Live and Live Nation in collaboration with the Assam government.

Building on a memorandum of understanding between BookMyShow and Assam's tourism department, Post Malone's Guwahati concert marks the partnership's first major achievement, unlocking opportunities for both national and international performances and enhancing the region's live entertainment landscape. Padmapani Bora, Managing Director of Assam Tourism Development Corporation, emphasized this as a pivotal moment in Assam's cultural evolution.

Highlighting the state's Concert Tourism Policy, Bora noted the aim to establish Assam as a leading venue for international music and large-scale live events. The partnership with BookMyShow Live is seen as a crucial step toward strengthening the local entertainment ecosystem, nurturing talent, and generating economic and tourism benefits. Meanwhile, Guwahati Police, alongside event partners, are focused on ensuring smooth and secure crowd management.

Ankur Jain, Guwahati's Joint Commissioner of Police, highlighted the city's readiness to host major events confidently. Anil Makhija, COO of Live Entertainment & Venues at BookMyShow, praised the cohesive efforts of Assam's civic authorities in enabling this regionally significant event. The collaboration promises an immersive, cutting-edge performance, showcasing Guwahati to the global community.

Preparations for the concert include a strategic multi-agency approach to manage every concert aspect, from crowd control to fan experience enhancement. A total of 15 designated parking zones, supported by 1,300 police officers for law and order and traffic control, underscore the collaborative efforts. Government Fire Services will deploy rescue vehicles and personnel to ensure safety.

Comprehensive medical services are planned, supported by Health City Hospital, featuring ambulances, and ICU setups, alongside on-site medical support. Global-standard production will ensure an impressive audio-visual experience with state-of-the-art lighting, sound, and special effects, meeting international touring demands. The concert reflects Guwahati's emergence as a global entertainment hub.

Sustainable practices underpin the event, emphasizing plastic-free operations, waste management, and hydration solutions. BookMyShow Live is also facilitating a welfare station and additional on-ground services for attendee comfort and safety.
