NTPC Commissions Major Solar Operations in Gujarat and Rajasthan
NTPC announced the commercial operation of 243.66 MW of its 1,255-MW solar project in Khavda, Gujarat, effective December 2025. Additionally, a further 78 MW of the Nokh Solar Project in Rajasthan began operations, with overall capacity across NTPC facilities now surpassing 85,540 MW.

In a significant boost to renewable energy, NTPC kicked off commercial operations for a sizable segment of its solar project in Gujarat. On Wednesday, the power giant revealed that 243.66 MW of its ambitious 1,255-MW Khavda-I solar venture is now operational.
Effective from December 17, 2025, this development under the CPSU scheme Phase-II Tranche-III marks a major milestone for NTPC Renewable Energy Limited. At the same time, a 78 MW capacity from the 735 MW Nokh Solar PV Project in Rajasthan began operations Thursday.
Additionally, NTPC Green Energy Ltd, an NTPC arm, announced partial operations of 37.925 MW from the 300 MW Khavda solar project. These initiatives push NTPC Group's total installed and commercial energy output beyond 85,540 MW, highlighting its leadership under India's Ministry of Power.
