In a heated display of dissent, Congress members, under the leadership of Bhupinder Singh Hooda, convened in Haryana's Panchkula to protest the National Herald case. The opposition leader condemned the case as politically driven, urging the government to prioritize public welfare over political score-settling.

The controversial case saw a recent turn when a Delhi court declined to take cognizance of a prosecution complaint by the Enforcement Directorate, citing a lack of foundation in the form of an FIR. The complaint targeted prominent Congress figures like Sonia and Rahul Gandhi and was originally based on a private complaint by BJP's Subramanian Swamy.

In Karnataka, Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar labeled the court's ruling as evidence of BJP's 'vendetta politics.' As Congress members nationwide rallied in solidarity, protests resonated in legislative bodies, underscoring the party's commitment to what they call a stand for truth and democratic integrity.
