In a shocking incident, two top officials of an ethanol plant were shot dead on Thursday. The tragic event unfolded at the Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited facility in Sejni village, officials reported.

The victims, identified as 58-year-old general manager Sudhir Kumar Gupta and 34-year-old assistant general manager Harshit Mishra, were killed in a brazen attack allegedly perpetrated by Ajay Pratap Singh, a local who was once a vendor for the plant.

Singh, who was recently blacklisted and harbored a grudge against the management, allegedly managed to cross the security barriers and opened fire in a conference room, killing both executives on the spot. The local authorities have swiftly arrested Singh, with investigations into the motive and circumstances of the attack ongoing, confirmed Senior Superintendent of Police Brijesh Kumar Singh.
