In a significant diplomatic move, China and Uruguay have strengthened their strategic partnership to promote an 'equal and orderly multipolar world.' President Xi Jinping and Uruguayan President Yamandu Orsi discussed initiatives aimed at fostering inclusive economic globalization and building a shared future for humankind.
Orsi's visit to Beijing marks an important South American diplomatic engagement with China, especially after recent geopolitical tensions in the region. Accompanied by a 150-member delegation, Orsi's visit aims to boost Uruguay's global standing and create opportunities for investment and development.
The visit features the signing of 12 cooperation documents spanning science, technology, environmental cooperation, and intellectual property. As China remains a key destination for Uruguayan exports, both nations have pledged to deepen their collaboration and explore new avenues in trade, including dairy and service exports.
