Union Minister Jyotiraditya M. Scindia lauded the landmark trade deal between India and the U.S., emphasizing it represents the unity of the world's two largest democracies aiming for a stronger, more peaceful global order. In a social media post, he highlighted the potential of the trade agreement to reshape innovation, bolster supply chains, and deliver global solutions.
Scindia asserted the deal as pivotal for growth and shared prosperity, noting that the reduction in tariffs on Indian products is crucial for the economy and benefits farmers, businesses, and consumers in both countries. He was joined by Union Minister Prahlad Joshi in celebrating the agreement, which also facilitates access to advanced U.S. technology.
Meanwhile, former U.S. President Donald Trump announced the deal and its outline, including substantial tariff reductions. PM Narendra Modi expressed gratitude towards Trump, hailing the tariff reduction on Indian goods to 18%, and declared it a win for 1.4 billion Indians. The deal signifies a deepening of strategic ties between the countries.
