Brazil is set to break a coffee harvest record in 2026, with a forecast increase of 17.1% over the previous year. Favorable weather, technology adoption, and effective management practices contribute to an expected production of 66.2 million bags, maintaining high prices amid global demand.
Brazil's coffee industry is poised for an all-time high as the 2026 harvest is expected to surge by 17.1% compared to last year, according to a report from national crop agency Conab.
The report highlights a projected increase in Arabica coffee production by over 20% to 44.1 million bags, alongside a 6.4% rise in robusta coffee output to 22.1 million bags. Contributing factors include more favorable weather throughout the crop cycle, technological advancements, and enhanced field management techniques driving productivity gains.
Yield is anticipated to rise by 12.4% to 34.2 bags per hectare, marking a significant improvement from Bolivia's prior top harvest in 2020 with 63.1 million bags. Conab predicts coffee prices will remain high due to persistent global demand, even amidst record production levels in both Brazil and Vietnam.
