Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan arrived at Jaipur airport on Tuesday, ahead of the much-anticipated launch of the innovative digital platform 'Bharat-VISTAAR'. This artificial intelligence-driven initiative is set to revolutionize the farming sector by offering vital information to farmers nationwide.
According to a release from the Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Bharat-VISTAAR will empower farmers with data on weather, market prices, pest control, and government schemes. Initially available in Hindi and English, the platform promises to impact lakhs of farmers in states like Maharashtra, Bihar, and Gujarat via phone, chatbots, and a forthcoming app.
The launch event will also see the introduction of the 'AI for Agriculture Roadmap', alongside the announcement of the 'AI Hackathon' and 'AgriKosh'. The system has been designed with a 'Voice-First AI' approach, ensuring accessibility for farmers using basic feature phones. Key figures including Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma will participate in the Jaipur ceremony.
