Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami hailed the sacrifices and inspirations derived from women, during a cultural event organized to honour International Women's Day. Dhami emphasized the vital role women play in nurturing future generations and taking care of the family, likening them to 'Lakshmi' or the goddess of prosperity within households.

In a nationwide address, Prime Minister Narendra Modi commended India's women, or 'Nari Shakti', for their tenacity, creativity, and significant contributions across various sectors. He highlighted government initiatives aimed at women-led development, reiterating the focus on empowering women to reach their full potential and fuel India's progress.

Modi also showcased improvements in the lives of grassroots women over the past decade, attributing these advancements to targeted government policies. The Prime Minister noted that women's contributions are crucial for India's journey towards becoming a developed nation, and their accomplishments continue to be a source of national pride.
