The Assam State BJP has expressed deep concern over the recent protocol breaches during President Droupadi Murmu's visit to West Bengal. In a statement on Sunday, the BJP criticized the handling of the President's visit, describing it as a disregard for India's democratic institutions and norms.

According to reports, the venue change for the Santhal Conference, attended by President Murmu, from Bidhannagar to Gosaipur, Bagdogra, disrupted participation from the community. Additionally, the absence of senior state representatives to receive the President was called out as a significant breach of protocol by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The BJP underscored the importance of respect for constitutional dignity, especially when viewed through the lens of International Women's Day, spotlighting President Murmu's significant role as India's first tribal woman president. They further highlighted ongoing initiatives in Assam aimed at empowering women and tribal communities, underscoring the party's focus on social progress.
