The Tripura Legislative Assembly's much-anticipated Budget Session is set to commence on Friday, extending until March 25. The opening day will feature an address by Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu, followed by tributes to the late former Speaker Biswabandhu Sen, after which proceedings will pause in his honor.

On March 16, Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy will present the State Budget for the financial year 2026-27. The session will also introduce three pivotal bills: the Tripura University of Health Science Bill, the Technical University Bill, and the Women's Bill, targeting enhancements in higher education.

State employees, who have been waiting long for Dearness Allowance (DA) adjustments, are keenly observing the budget announcements, hoping for favorable developments that address the widening disparity between state and central government employee benefits. Additionally, debates on the Governor's address and budget details will occupy the session, with the final budget approval expected on March 25.
