Revenue Minister Jagat Singh Negi of Himachal Pradesh has guaranteed a detailed departmental investigation into alleged irregularities concerning the Chester Hill land deal. He assured stern action against those found culpable. In response to growing allegations, Negi noted that the matter is grave and already under a department-level probe.

Amidst the controversy, Negi confirmed that any official involvement, including decisions amid administrative changes, is being scrutinized. The government's interventions seem to have unfolded only after heightened media coverage. Meanwhile, Sanjay Chauhan, CPI (M) state secretary, has demanded a judicial inquiry and the Chief Secretary's dismissal.

Addressing ANI, Chauhan accused the Chief Secretary of misusing authority and breaching land laws. Highlighting the seriousness, he referred to what he termed a "proven case," citing a High Court's stay order as evidence. Chauhan stressed the need for a thorough judicial and statewide probe into undervalued land transactions.
