A supposed tragic road incident in Madhya Pradesh's Khandwa district has now morphed into an intense police inquiry. Authorities have launched a high-stakes investigation into what they now suspect was a premeditated crime with a 'love angle'. The collision involved a speeding SUV and a smaller passenger vehicle, resulting in the deaths of two individuals and leaving three others seriously injured.
Eyewitness accounts describe a relentless pursuit by the SUV, which eventually collided with the smaller vehicle near Kenud village. Initial theories rooted the incident in reckless driving, but evidence has shifted it toward deliberate action. The accused, involved in a romantic relationship with a woman who was set to marry someone else, allegedly carried out the attack after threatening her family, who later lodged a complaint against him.
Khandwa DIG Manoj Kumar Rai reported that the suspect, upon learning about the woman's impending travel plans, used his Thar vehicle to ram into the car she was in, causing it to veer into a ditch. This resulted in the untimely deaths of her brother and mother. Police investigations have deemed the act intentional, and legal proceedings against the suspect are underway. Meanwhile, in a separate incident in Shivpuri, five people suffered minor injuries due to reckless driving by a BJP MLA's son.
