In a bid to boost voter turnout amid ongoing local body elections, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel exercised his franchise in Ahmedabad on Sunday, urging citizens to recognize voting as both a right and a responsibility.

Addressing the media, Patel described the elections as a 'sacred festival of democracy' and encouraged voters to participate actively. He rallied support for the Bharatiya Janata Party, expressing hope for a strong turnout despite challenges posed by hot weather and holidays.

Ahead of the polls, Patel had urged voters to commit to 100 percent participation, highlighting voting's role in advancing local and regional development. The elections encompass 15 municipal corporations, including key cities like Ahmedabad and Surat, with results expected on April 28.
