AAP in Crisis: Rajya Sabha MP Defections Shake Party’s Credibility

Seven Rajya Sabha MPs of Aam Aadmi Party, including Raghav Chadha, have joined BJP, raising questions about AAP's credibility among its ranks. N Ramchander Rao criticized AAP's leadership, while Chadha accused the party of straying from its principles, prompting multiple MPs to exit collectively.

In a significant political development, seven Rajya Sabha members from the Aam Aadmi Party, including Raghav Chadha, have defected to the Bharatiya Janata Party, raising concerns about AAP's internal stability and credibility. Telangana BJP President N Ramchander Rao has asserted that this move signals the party's impending dissolution.

Rao accused AAP of losing control over its members, attributing this to the alleged involvement of its leaders in a liquor scam. He stated that the party's downfall in Delhi and governance issues in Punjab have eroded its credibility. He further remarked that the departure of MLAs and MPs showcases a democratic choice, rather than an undemocratic crisis, aligning with citizens' interests.

Raghav Chadha, articulating his reasons for leaving, argued that AAP has deviated from its foundational values, leaving no room for genuinely honest party workers. He asserted that the mass exit of MPs is a consequence of the party falling into what he described as 'corrupt and compromised hands'.
