Gujarat Police Excel in Mobile Recovery, Secures Third National Rank
Gujarat Police have achieved third place nationally in tracing stolen mobiles, with a remarkable 46.71% recovery rate. Over the past year, 53,564 phones were returned to owners. Recognized for excellence, officers in Ahmedabad City, Dang, and Bhavnagar received honors for outstanding mobile recovery performance.

The Gujarat Police have set a new benchmark by securing the third position among major Indian states in the recovery of stolen mobile phones, achieving a recovery rate that exceeds the national average.
According to the Chief Minister’s Office, the force's 46.71% recovery rate has seen 53,564 handsets returned to their rightful owners over the last year. This success was acknowledged as nodal police officers from Ahmedabad City, Dang, and Bhavnagar districts were honored for their exemplary performance.
In collaboration with the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) and using the 'Sanchar Saathi' portal and CEIR module, Gujarat has achieved a significant milestone in mobile recovery. Under Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi’s leadership, the state has significantly outperformed the national recovery rate of 32.6%, recovering 53,564 handsets at 46.71%.
The latest data for 2025-26 reveals that Ahmedabad City, Dang, and Bhavnagar districts are at the forefront of recovery performance, with scores of 56.70, 54.89, and 53.44, respectively. Their efforts resulted in the recovery of over 1,14,670 blocked handsets across Gujarat. State Police Chief K L N Rao honored the exceptional work of nodal officers with awards, aiming to enhance national security and prevent telecom fraud.
