Tripura Celebrates Buddha Purnima with Timeless Teachings and Harmony

In the face of escalating global conflicts, Tripura Governor Sena Reddy Nallu emphasized the enduring significance of Gautama Buddha's teachings during the 2570th Buddha Purnima celebrations at Venuvan Buddha Vihara. The event drew notable personalities and members of the Buddhist community for a reflection on peace and compassion.

Governor Nallu addressed participants, underscoring the celebrations as a testament to the commitment to building an inclusive society founded on dignity and hope. He urged a societal shift from hatred to love, cruelty to compassion, and violence to peace, echoing Buddha's timeless message of overcoming hatred through love.

Pradyot Bikram Manikya Deb Barma also spoke, encouraging adherence to Buddha's principles in daily life. The gathering featured speeches by Chief Monk Khemachara and Reverent Chandra Vangsha Mahathero, and included the felicitation of veteran Buddhist followers and children's prize distribution.

The event concluded with a pledge to uphold Buddha's values, marking an observance of his birth, enlightenment, and passing—significant events that coincide on the same lunar date. Buddha's incarnation as Lord Vishnu's ninth avatar was also commemorated, highlighting his birth in a royal family and subsequent renunciation for enlightenment.
