A slab on the Vikramshila Setu bridge in Bhagalpur unexpectedly collapsed between two pillars, falling into the Ganges River. Fortunately, no casualties were reported in the incident.

Authorities, including District Magistrate Naval Kishore Chaudhary and other senior officials, promptly arrived at the scene. They implemented traffic diversions and conducted an evacuation to ensure public safety.

This vital infrastructure, linking Bhagalpur to Seemanchal, remains closed to traffic. Previous concerns about the bridge's structural integrity have resurfaced, especially regarding its expansion joints.
