In a significant legal development, DJ Deepak Bisht has been acquitted of murder charges by a Tis Hazari court, following a 2018 restaurant brawl that turned fatal. The incident transpired during a birthday celebration at Raftar Restaurant, with accusations pointing at Bisht for fatally stabbing Vijay Deep.

The court, led by Additional Sessions Judge Saumya Chauhan, determined that there was no substantial evidence implicating Bisht, as the investigation revealed notable shortcomings. Consequently, Bisht was acquitted of the charges under Section 302 IPC and relevant sections of the Arms Act.

Defending Bisht, advocates Deepak Sharma, Ravish Dedha, and Ankit Tyagi highlighted investigative lapses, contending that the charges stemmed from unreliable eyewitness accounts and compromised police procedures. Despite prosecution arguments citing CCTV footage, the court ruled in favor of the defense, marking a critical verdict.
