The Rouse Avenue court will announce its decision regarding the bail application of MCD Deputy Commissioner Abhishek Kumar Mishra on May 8. Mishra, along with another MCD official, has been detained in connection with a bribery scandal, with Special Judge Sudhansu Kaushik overseeing the case.

Abhishek Kumar Mishra and co-accused Devanshu Gautam were placed in judicial custody from April 1 after Gautam was caught accepting bribe money on Mishra's behalf. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) recovered the said bribe from Mishra's residence, alleging that Gautam had first delivered the money to Mishra's wife.

The CBI claims the Rs 4 lakh bribe was solicited to favor MCD employees Mukesh Kumar Sharma and Gajender Kumar, both under departmental suspension. Gautam, serving as an Administrative Officer in MCD, allegedly demanded the sum, acting as a conduit for Mishra. The bribery transaction was exposed after Mukesh Kumar filed a complaint, leading to Gautam's arrest.

During the sting operation at Rajghat Parking, Gautam informed Mishra via mobile that the bribe was accepted, after which he was instructed to give it to Mishra's wife. Subsequently, Mishra was apprehended, and the CBI recovered the funds, supported by recorded conversations.
