A New Dawn: TVK's Strategic Assembly Leadership Unveiled

Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) MLA JCD Prabhakar filed his nomination for Tamil Nadu Assembly Speaker, signaling a leadership shift after TVK's election win. With coalition backing, Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay promises transparency and reforms. Amidst oath-taking, Vijay aims to fulfill key promises like free electricity and public safety enhancements.

On Monday, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) MLA JCD Prabhakar filed his nomination for the position of Speaker of the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly, witnessed by Chief Minister Vijay. This move marks an essential step in shaping the leadership under the newly established TVK-led government.

Elected from the Thousand Lights constituency in the 2026 elections, Prabhakar outperformed DMK's Ezhlian Naganathan. Although the TVK fell short of the 118-seat majority, strategic alliances with parties like the Congress, VCK, Left parties, and IUML enabled Vijay to form the government.

During the swearing-in of the new administration, Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay highlighted his commitment to running a transparent government. Taking a firm stand against past governance, Vijay pledged openness, emphasizing reforms including free electricity and addressing public safety.
