Known Maoist leader Shraddha Biswas, alias Bela, was detained following intelligence inputs about her operations in Jharkhand. She faces over 20 pending cases and has been on law enforcement's radar for years. Police Commissioner Ajay Nand confirmed her arrest and underscored the importance of this capture, highlighting a Rs 15 lakh reward announced for her by Jharkhand Police.

Simultaneously, Bangla Pokkho chief Garga Chatterjee was apprehended for allegedly provocative social media content. His posts concerning EVM tampering and election malpractices are said to have stirred confusion among political parties and the public. The police have linked his detainment to multiple complaints, including a suo motu case for divisive online commentary.
