Riniki Bhuyan Sharma faced allegations from Congress leader Pawan Khera, claiming she possessed passports from multiple countries and undisclosed properties overseas. She dismissed these claims as politically motivated falsehoods and filed an FIR against the accusations, portraying them as an attempt to undermine her husband’s administration.

The oath-taking ceremony, held at the Veterinary College ground in Khanapara, was attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Ministers, and other dignitaries. Alongside Sarma, four other ministers were sworn in, setting the stage for the third NDA government in Assam.
