Massive Russian Drone Attack Rattles Western Ukraine Amid Global Tensions
Russia launched a massive daytime drone attack targeting critical infrastructure in western Ukraine, killing at least six people. The attack coincided with the US President's visit to China, drawing NATO-member Poland to scramble fighter jets. It marks the end of a temporary ceasefire and reignites tensions.
Russia unleashed an extensive daylight drone assault on Ukraine, aiming at vital infrastructure in the west on Wednesday, resulting in at least six deaths and provoking Poland, a NATO member, to scramble fighter jets, according to officials.
President Volodymyr Zelenskiy remarked that Moscow launched over 800 drones since midnight, deliberately targeting regions nearby NATO countries, adding the attack coincided with the US President's visit to China as a strategic distraction.
Ukraine's HUR military intelligence warned of further missile strikes following the drone assault, which significantly damaged railway infrastructure and essential service facilities, causing casualties and spurring international condemnation.
