In a significant escalation of the political crisis enveloping the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK), another MLA, E Subaya from Ambasamudram constituency, is reportedly poised to resign, sources suggest. This follows the resignations of three AIADMK legislators: Maragatham Kumaravel, Sathyabama, and Jayakumar, who left to join the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam.

The departures were swiftly validated by Assembly Speaker JCD Prabhakar, who confirmed that the resignations adhered to legislative protocols, being personally submitted and hand-written. The resignations underscore a tectonic shift in Tamil Nadu's political landscape, drawing severe criticism from DMK leader MK Stalin, who decried the moves as 'horse-trading at horse-speed.'

Stalin lashed out on social media, lambasting Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) as an institution sowing discord. He accused TVK and parts of AIADMK of orchestrating a confusing confidence motion, questioning whether voters anticipated such maneuvers. Stalin further criticized Congress for their alleged duplicity in the ongoing upheaval, claiming their support for TVK contradicted prior commitments.
