Edappadi K Palaniswami, the General Secretary of All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK), has relocated to a new home in Chennai's Royapettah. This move follows his exit from the 'Sevvanthi' government bungalow on Greenways Road, where he resided since 2011. Palaniswami's change of address comes after AIADMK lost its Opposition status post-2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, marking the end of his tenure as Leader of the Opposition.

As part of the traditional housewarming on Friday, Palaniswami and his family conducted a milk-boiling ceremony to mark the auspicious occasion. Sources indicate he arrived at the Deivasigamani Street residence in Royapettah after his family had already moved in, performing rituals before departing the premises.

With the DMK's rise to power in 2021, former ministers have been vacating government accommodations, yet Palaniswami was permitted to stay at the bungalow due to his leadership role. Concurrently, he has advised that party advertisements should refrain from mentioning previous titles of demoted leaders, signaling a steadfast stance on disciplinary measures. AIADMK's internal discussions continue, notably over 25 MLAs supporting the Tamilaga Vettru Kazhagam (TVK) government, as party dynamics evolve further.
