Pune is gripped by a crisis as the consumption of suspected illicit liquor has claimed 12 lives, prompting FIRs and political outrage. Pune City Police has registered a case at Hadapsar Police Station, naming Akash Jadhav and an unidentified individual as suspects in the tragic incident.
The Pimpri-Chinchwad Police also filed a case at Dapodi Police Station, as 8 deaths were reported there, compounding 4 others in Hadapsar. Protests have emerged, led by Shiv Sena leader Pramod Nana Bhangire, calling for immediate action against illegal liquor operations while alleging police negligence.
Amid these tensions, Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut has slammed the government for its failure to grasp the incident's seriousness, labeling it a 'case of culpable homicide.' Meanwhile, police investigations are ongoing, with Commissioner Amitesh Kumar promising stringent action against those implicated in this deadly affair.
