New Delhi: In a significant move, the United Doctors Front (UDF) on Monday voiced critical concerns to the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Education, Women, Children, Youth and Sports about the current examination framework for NEET. They argued for a shift from the existing structure of the National Testing Agency (NTA) to a more transparent and accountable system.

Dr. Lakshya Mittal, Chairperson of UDF, was directly engaged with the Committee Chairman, providing detailed recommendations. The UDF's stance is clear: replace the current NTA with a new statutory body accountable to Parliament to conduct significant examinations like NEET. This, they believe, will ensure greater transparency and credibility.

The UDF highlighted the necessity of probing allegations of misconduct, such as the misuse of the National Emblem by the NTA. Additionally, they underscored the importance of addressing unresolved issues from prior NEET exams, advocating for a comprehensive and transparent inquiry to restore trust among medical aspirants. They stressed the broader implications on India's medical education system if these issues remain unaddressed.
