In a fervent address in Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay unequivocally criticized the preceding Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam government under MK Stalin. He accused them of failing to control the growing drug crisis and not ensuring the safety of women, contrasting his steadfast governance with the perceived instability of his predecessor.
Vijay responded to the DMK's criticism by questioning the so-called 'model government' they claim to leave behind. He linked the rampant spread of drug culture and the suffering of women to the former administration's inaction, asserting that his leadership would not waver like Stalin’s and reaffirming his commitment to secularism, social justice, and equity.
The Chief Minister also addressed critiques of his attire, arguing that black and white symbolize the balance of the human mind and questioned whether power is the only measure of who can wear suits. He further stated that the political landscape of Tamil Nadu is now a duel between Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam and DMK, sidelining other parties, namely AIADMK.
