In the aftermath of the Malviya Nagar fire, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has announced a high-level meeting on June 5 to address fire safety compliance and unauthorized constructions across the city. In a firm stance, the government asserts that no individual found culpable, whether building owner or official, will escape accountability for the incident.

The meeting will see participation from senior officials of the Delhi Police, the Revenue Department, the Municipal Corporation of Delhi, and other relevant bodies at the Delhi Secretariat. The Chief Minister emphasized the need for a thorough investigation into the causes behind the tragic fire at a Malviya Nagar guest house, urging stringent measures against illegal establishments violating safety norms.

Addressing the tragic incident at Flourish Stay Hotel, which resulted in 21 deaths and multiple injuries, Gupta is adamant about fixing departmental accountability and eradicating corruption-related inefficiencies. The government aims to implement rigorous rules to prevent recurrence and intends to crack down on unauthorized operations, with recent charges leading to the arrest of hotel owner Lovkesh Bajaj.
