Himachal Pradesh Cabinet Paves Way for Compassionate Appointments and Land Reforms

Under the leadership of Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, the Himachal Pradesh Cabinet convened in Shimla on Saturday, ushering in significant resolutions across diverse sectors. The Cabinet ratified a reassessment of earlier denied compassionate job claims, incorporating essential relaxations for the most meritorious cases as a one-off measure.

In compliance with the Supreme Court, a new policy was approved for the regularization of specific land encroachments by landless families and marginal farmers. This policy seeks the Central Government's approval and supports families using government land for residences or farming. The Cabinet also unveiled an Agriculture Loan Interest Subvention Scheme, assisting 6,356 farmers with half the interest on loans up to Rs. 3 lakh.

The meeting greenlit the creation and recruitment for 400 Work Inspector positions, alongside significant hirings in the health sector, including 300 Medical Officers. Additionally, several educational and healthcare initiatives, such as the construction of new hospital infrastructure and position upgrades, were endorsed to bolster state services and infrastructure.
