Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister G Parameshwara has expressed strong support for Congress MLA BZ Zameer Ahmed Khan to receive a ministerial post, praising Khan as a 'capable leader,' notably from the minority community. In Tumakuru, Parameshwara assured there is 'nothing wrong with giving him a berth.'
Parameshwara, addressing the ongoing cabinet changes, highlighted growing statewide demands for Khan's inclusion in the ministry's second phase. He remains optimistic about the Congress high command's decision, citing Khan's past ministerial success. Parameshwara intends to thank the party's high command in Delhi for his own recent Deputy CM appointment.
Following the initial induction of 13 ministers in early June under CM DK Shivakumar, discussions continue on the upcoming cabinet expansion. Notably, Deputy CM Parameshwara oversees Revenue and Sports, while Priyank Kharge, Satish Jarkiholi, KH Muniyappa, and others manage significant portfolios.
The Energy and Tourism roles fall to KJ George, while jurisdiction over Greater Bengaluru’s development lands with Krishna Byre Gowda. Meanwhile, addressing opposition to the Hemavati Express Link Canal project, Parameshwara vowed state commitment to progress and engaging the affected communities to expedite the stalled land acquisition.
