Saket Court Denies Bail to Jawad Siddique Amidst Cancer-Stricken Wife's Plea

The Saket District Court rejected interim bail pleas by Jawad Ahmed Siddique, citing insufficient grounds despite his wife's advanced cancer condition. In a significant ruling, the Saket District Court on Tuesday denied interim bail to Jawad Ahmed Siddique, detained in a money laundering case linked to the Al Falah Trust. Siddique's plea for bail was based on his wife's battle with cancer; however, the court found the applications lacking merit due to changed circumstances.

Additional Sessions Judge Sheetal Chaudhary Pradhan observed that Siddique's arguments failed to demonstrate his wife's inability to manage daily life without his support. The court noted a previous interim bail granted during a purported emergency was no longer valid in the current context, where Siddique's adult children could support their mother.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) opposed Siddique's plea, highlighting a possibility of him influencing witnesses and manipulating evidence if released. The court agreed, stressing that no urgent grounds justified interim bail, concluding that the investigation's integrity could be compromised.
