Karnataka Chief Minister DK Shivakumar has extended his congratulations to Congress leaders Mallikarjun Kharge, Pawan Khera, and Mansoor Ali Khan, following their unopposed election to the Rajya Sabha. Alongside BJP's M Nagaraja, these leaders secured their positions after an independent candidate's nomination was dismissed in the biennial state elections.
In a post on social media platform X, Shivakumar expressed optimism that the newly-elected representatives would effectively advocate for Karnataka's interests in the parliamentary arena. He stated his belief that their leadership would resonate with the aspirations of the people and contribute to the state's ongoing development.
Simultaneously, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has voiced criticism toward the BJP and the Election Commission of India. Gandhi accused them of 'seat theft,' alleging that Congress's Meenakshi Natarajan was wrongfully disqualified in Madhya Pradesh, ensuring BJP candidates had no opponents. He cited Parimal Nathwani's candidacy irregularities as indicative of biased practices by the ECI.
