Under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Uttar Pradesh is rapidly transforming into a key center for civil aviation, according to a release from the Civil Aviation Department. The state is investing in new airports, expanding current terminals, and boosting air connectivity, positioning itself firmly on the aviation map.
In Gorakhpur, a new civil terminal is underway to accommodate the rising number of flights. A landmark MoU signed in June 2025 paved the way for this development, as 42.14 acres of military land has been transferred. Simultaneously, Agra’s airport expansion has crossed 60 percent completion with additional land acquisition.
Kanpur Airport boasts a newly inaugurated terminal with further expansion plans in the pipeline. Aligarh, Moradabad, and Shravasti airports are seeing significant developments aimed at enhancing the state’s air transport infrastructure. These projects are not only set to improve connectivity but also stimulate economic growth through tourism and investment.
