In preparation for International Yoga Day, a special yoga camp was organized for Indian Army personnel at Neem Beach, Tapovan Aamkhala, located on the revered banks of the River Ganga in Rishikesh. The program received direction from yoga expert and Ayurvedic physician Dr. Amrit Raj of Arogyadham Retreat, also known as Maa Yoga Ashram.

Personnel from the 6 Mountain Brigade at Raiwala Military Station, coupled with NCC cadets, took part in this transformative session in Yog Nagri, Rishikesh. Participants engaged in a series of yoga postures, pranayama practices, and meditation under professional supervision.

Dr. Amrit Raj advocated for the integration of yoga and Ayurveda into everyday life, noting the significance of adopting an Ayurvedic lifestyle. Essential insights into Ayurveda wellness were shared with attendees. Reflecting on the spiritual facet of yoga, Dr. Raj highlighted the journey of self-discovery and the intrinsic joy and peace it brings, summarizing the essence of 'Who am I?'

The camp was a precursor to the International Day of Yoga on June 21. Haryana officials, including Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini and Assembly Speaker Harvinder Kalyan, also engaged in Yoga Protocol Training at Haryana Vidhan Sabha for the 12th International Yoga Day.

This culturally rich initiative began with a candle-lighting ceremony, followed by the national anthem and Haryana's state song. Chief Minister Saini emphasized the worldwide embrace of India’s yoga initiative, originally presented at the United Nations by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2014, bolstered by the support of 170 countries. The initiative not only underscores a proposal but also celebrates India's profound cultural legacy. (ANI)
