US to announce reciprocal action on 'Macron’s foolishness'

The United States "will announce substantial reciprocal action on Macron's foolishness shortly", the US President Donald Trump has announced on his official Twitter account. He was responding to the action of putting digital tax put by France on "great American technology companies". The President said if anybody can tax American companies it should be their home country. He further added that he has always said American wine is better than French wine.

France just put a digital tax on our great American technology companies. If anybody taxes them, it should be their home Country, the USA. We will announce a substantial reciprocal action on Macron's foolishness shortly. I've always said American wine is better than French wine!

On July 11, French President Emmanuel Macron signed into law a 3% tax on the revenue of digital giants like Facebook Inc. and Amazon.com Inc. The tax will target companies with at least 750 million euros ($834 million) in global revenue and digital sales of 25 million euros in France from certain digital activities, such as targeted advertising, and providing platforms to connect buyers and sellers.
