Nate McMurray will be running for Congress in 27th Congressional District of New York, he announced the news on his official Twitter account. Grand Island Supervisor and progressive Democrat said in a statement "It's important to oppose Mr. Collins, to oppose the policies coming out of Washington...It's probably the path of most resistance in a lot of ways. But I do believe that it's the right fight."

He said in a statement, "I'm fighting for families like the one I grew up in—good people, struggling to get by in a system that cares less and less about what matters to them. Western New York needs better roads. We need more jobs. We need better healthcare and we need to make sure that the social security that you earned is kept safe—forever."
Nate McMurray was a candidate for New York's 27th Congressional District in the U.S. House last year as well. McMurray lost the general election on November 6, 2018, after advancing from the primary on June 26, 2018.
