The Indian Army foiled multiple infiltration attempts by terrorists during the night of Independence Day, according to news agency ANI. The attempts were reportedly backed by the Pakistan Army in the Keran sector of Jammu and Kashmir. Pakistan Army is increasing its attempts to push terrorists in the Indian territory, the agency reported.

The agency reported while citing the army sources that in order to push terrorists from multiple points inside Indian territory, Pakistan has activated a major communication hub in Kali Ghati area near Neelam Valley in Pakistan occupied Kashmir to facilitate terrorists trying to infiltrate.

The communication hub with a range of 50-60 Kms, allows terrorists to communicate with their guides even across the LoC. The Indian Army positions alerted on the LoC to prevent any misadventure by Pakistan Army.

Yesterday, three Pakistani soldiers were killed in a punitive proactive response after ceasefire violations by the Pakistan Army in Uri and Rajouri sectors. The Pakistan Army claimed that five Indian soldiers were dead in ceasefire violations along the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir but the Indian Army denied such claims.

The tension between the two countries has escalated to a new level after India revoked article 370 ending the special status of the northern state of Jammu and Kashmir.

The Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation Bill, 2019 Bill has reorganized the state of Jammu and Kashmir into the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir with a legislature, and the Union Territory of Ladakh without a legislature.

The Union Territory of Ladakh will comprise Kargil and Leh districts, and the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir will comprise the remaining territories of the existing state of Jammu and Kashmir.
