A 28-year-old woman from Malayinkeezhu, identified as Krishna Thankappan, died on Sunday after allegedly receiving a wrong injection at a state-run hospital.
Family sources stated that she had been unconscious for five days following treatment for kidney stones at Neyyattinkara General Hospital.
Her husband, Sharath, lodged a complaint, leading to the registration of a case against Dr. Vinu under Section 125 of the Bharatiya Nyay Samhita (BNS) for acts endangering life or personal safety.
According to the FIR, Dr. Vinu administered an injection without conducting necessary allergy tests. However, the Kerala Government Medical Officers' Association dismissed these claims, attributing her condition to anaphylaxis, a severe allergic reaction.
Thiruvananthapuram MP Shashi Tharoor has called for a comprehensive investigation into the allegations.
