In a tragic incident in Murshidabad district, 75-year-old Niyati Mondal died of a heart attack shortly after embracing the lifeless body of her 84-year-old husband, Shankar Mondal. The couple, who shared a 50-year-long marriage, leaves behind two children, who are deeply shocked by the sudden double loss.

In a heart-wrenching farewell, a bereaved wife died moments after embracing the lifeless body of her 84-year-old husband in Kandi, Murshidabad district. Shankar Mondal, who had been suffering from geriatric issues, passed away at his Bharatpur village home.

As Mondal's body was placed in the courtyard for his final journey, his 75-year-old wife, Niyati, embraced him and shortly became motionless. Family members tried to revive her, but she was declared dead by a doctor. The doctor confirmed she had suffered a heart attack.

“After 50 years of happy marital life, mother probably could not live without our father. I am sure they will continue to live together in peace,” said their son, Ananta. The couple leaves behind two children, who are deeply affected by the dual loss.
