In an alarming series of events, three individuals, including a woman and her one-and-a-half-year-old son, succumbed to snake bites in separate incidents in Chhattisgarh's Korba district, according to police reports on Sunday.

The victims, identified as Shani Bai Kole and her son Vinay Kumar, were asleep in their home in Shivpur village under the jurisdiction of Pali police station when they were bitten by a snake during the intervening night of Friday and Saturday, an official confirmed. Despite being rushed to a community health center by their family members, both tragically died during treatment.

In a related incident, a 50-year-old man passed away in Karaanavapara village on Friday, and earlier this week, a 15-year-old girl lost her life to a snake bite in Donganala village. The rising frequency of snake bites with the onset of the monsoon season indicates a significant health risk in the forest areas of Pali block.
