Uttar Pradesh Launches Comprehensive Campaign Against Vector-Borne Diseases

The Uttar Pradesh government on Tuesday launched an ambitious campaign to tackle vector-borne diseases, communicable diseases, and brain fever related to rainfall, as per official sources.
The campaign, starting on October 11 and lasting until October 31, involves collaboration among thirteen departments to ensure its success. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has called on residents of the state to actively participate in the initiative. The campaign kicked off at the Community Health Center (CHC), Aliganj in Lucknow, marking its statewide launch. Principal Secretary of the Health, Medical, and Family Welfare department, Partha Sarathi Sen Sharma, emphasized the government's ongoing efforts to eradicate communicable diseases. Sharma noted that the campaign will occur periodically throughout the year, with teams visiting homes in all districts starting Tuesday to combat these diseases.
Residents are urged to prevent water stagnation in and around their homes, maintain cleanliness in vacant lots, and avoid the accumulation of debris. The campaign will include fogging operations and the application of anti-larvae solutions in all urban and rural areas, focusing on regions susceptible to dengue, malaria, and other diseases. Additionally, awareness camps will educate the public about disease prevention and health checks will be provided if fever patients are identified.
