The West Bengal government has established a state-level task force to ensure the safety and security of healthcare workers and to enhance the quality of services in the region, an official notification confirmed on Tuesday.
This development follows Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's promise to junior doctors to address these issues during a recent meeting. The task force will be chaired by Chief Secretary Manoj Pant, with notable members including Home Secretary Nandini Chakraborty, DGP Rajeev Kumar, Health Secretary NS Nigam, and Kolkata Police Commissioner Manoj Verma.
The task force aims to address healthcare grievances, reinforce infrastructure, enhance security measures, and facilitate improved healthcare delivery in the state through monitoring mechanisms and increased collaboration among healthcare stakeholders.
