Thane Health Centre Suspends Five for Unauthorised Absence

Five employees at a health centre in Maharashtra's Thane district have been suspended for being absent without permission. The suspension followed an unannounced visit by Thane Zilla Parishad's CEO Rohan Ghuge. An investigation into the incident is underway.

Authorities in Maharashtra's Thane district have taken action against five employees of a health centre for being absent from work without authorization. The suspensions were announced on Friday by Thane Zilla Parishad's Chief Executive Officer, Rohan Ghuge.

The employees, Pooja Chavan, Arjun Dhangar, Sakharam Harad, Vinod Pawar, and Nilima Patil, were caught off-guard when CEO Ghuge made an unannounced inspection of the health facility located in Nilje village near Dombivli. Upon finding the centre vacant, Ghuge immediately issued their suspension orders.

The move aims to maintain quality health services, according to the public relations officer, Reshma Arote. A departmental inquiry is set to follow, ensuring accountability and adherence to work protocols among health workers.
